FAQs

What You Should Know

Q: WHAT IS an inspection and what does it tell me?

A: A Wastewater treatment system inspection gives you a detailed written report with the condition of the whole system

What we look for:

The system is satisfactory, meaning there are no issues present.

Or

Satisfactory with concern; there is a minor repair required to bring to satisfactory status

or

Unsatisfactory; there are larger repairs required to bring it to satisfactory status. In the case of a full failure; the inspector will discuss the reason the system is at the end of its life expectancy and what steps to take next.

More investigation is necessary in order to reach a definitive conclusion. The type of additional investigatory work is explained.

All reports are subject to filing with the Health Department of either the town or the county in the case of a real estate transaction.

An inspector who is unable to supervise or monitor the future use or maintenance of the system cannot guarantee its performance.
